Sevenoaks is a commuter town with a medieval deer park at its centre. Knole and its thousand acres of parkland come right up to the High Street, Sevenoaks School sits on a site beside the park, and Walthamstow Hall teaches girls on Holly Bush Lane. Sevenoaks station on Tubs Hill has fast Southeastern trains to London Bridge, Charing Cross and Cannon Street. For private aviation, London Biggin Hill is the nearby business airport. Golf is a large part of local life. Wildernesse Golf Club, founded in 1890, plays at Seal, while Knole Park Golf Club has a James Braid course laid out inside the deer park itself, with a clubhouse dating from 1924.
