Our service in Walton-on-the-Hill, Kingswood and Tadworth

Walton-on-the-Hill keeps a large pond, a village green and St Peter's Church, parts of which date to the twelfth century, with heath and farmland in the Green Belt around it. Walton Heath Golf Club, founded in 1903, counted Winston Churchill and David Lloyd George among its members, and Pinfold Manor, built for Lloyd George in 1912, still stands on Nursery Road. Kingswood, across the A217, grew up around Kingswood Warren, the battlemented Gothic mansion that housed BBC Research and Development from 1948 to 2010. Tadworth has Tadworth Court, a Grade I listed house of 1700 that is now home to The Children's Trust.

The A217 Brighton Road runs as a dual carriageway along the edge of Tadworth and leads south to Junction 8 of the M25 at Reigate Hill, so Gatwick is a direct motorway journey and Heathrow is reached round the M25. Two stations on the Tattenham Corner line serve the villages, both run by Southern with trains to London Bridge: Tadworth on Cross Road, the nearest to Walton-on-the-Hill, and Kingswood on Waterhouse Lane. Tadworth has no car park, which makes having a chauffeur waiting at the station the simpler arrangement.

Walton Heath staged the Ryder Cup in 1981 and the AIG Women's Open in 2023, when Lilia Vu won by six strokes, and its Old Course was Herbert Fowler's first design. Kingswood Golf and Country Club on Sandy Lane, a James Braid course from the 1920s, also hosts weddings. In early June the Derby Festival takes over Epsom Downs, which begins just beyond Tattenham Corner on the northern side of Tadworth. In term time we cover the school run to Chinthurst on Tadworth Street and to Aberdour in Burgh Heath.

Notable places in Walton-on-the-Hill, Kingswood and Tadworth

  • Golf

    Walton Heath Golf Club

On Deans Lane, Walton-on-the-Hill (KT20 7TP); give the chauffeur your tee time and say whether you are staying for lunch, and we time the collection around it.

  • Weddings

    Kingswood Golf and Country Club

On Sandy Lane, Kingswood (KT20 6NE), with a ballroom, the smaller Warren Room and on-site parking; the club holds one wedding a day, so we match guest pickups to the couple's timings.

  • Racecourse

    Epsom Downs Racecourse

On the B290 Epsom Downs Road (KT18 5LQ), just north of Tadworth; the racecourse names Car Park 8 as the Derby drop-off, so that is where the chauffeur sets you down.

  • School

Events in the diary

  • The Derby FestivalEarly June

    Epsom Downs Racecourse

Two days of racing, with the Oaks on the Friday and the Derby on the Saturday; demand for cars peaks that weekend, so book once your tickets are confirmed.

On the road

  • The A217 is a dual carriageway along the eastern edge of Tadworth and meets the M25 at Junction 8 on Reigate Hill, which is our usual way onto the motorway from all three villages.
  • On Derby Festival days racegoers converge on Epsom Downs from Tattenham Corner and the B290, so we plan Tadworth pickups around the race times.

Questions about Walton-on-the-Hill, Kingswood and Tadworth

Can you take me to Walton Heath for an early tee time?

Yes. The club is on Deans Lane in Walton-on-the-Hill. Tell us your tee time and we arrive with room for your clubs, then collect you when you finish.

Where will the car drop us on Derby day?

The racecourse names Car Park 8 as the Derby drop-off, so the chauffeur sets you down there and we agree a collection time after the last race.

Which station is nearest to Walton-on-the-Hill?

Tadworth, on Cross Road, with Southern trains to London Bridge. It has no car park, so having the chauffeur meet the train saves hunting for a space.
