Richmond is a riverside town of greens and grand houses, and the view of the Thames from Richmond Hill is the only view in England protected by an Act of Parliament. People book cars here for Heathrow, for evenings at Richmond Theatre on Little Green, and for lunch at Petersham Nurseries or The Petersham on Nightingale Lane. For families on the hill, in Petersham and around the Old Deer Park we cover school runs, airport transfers and nights out in town.

Richmond Park shapes every local route. Its roads are open to motor traffic only in daylight, with a 20mph limit. The run between Richmond Gate and Kingston Gate is open every day, while Richmond Gate to Roehampton Gate is weekdays only, so we check gate times before using the park and go round it after dusk. Richmond station is served by the District line, the London Overground and South Western Railway. Heathrow is the closest airport to Richmond, and we cover Gatwick and London City from here as well.
