Our service in Chorleywood

Chorleywood is a village and civil parish in Three Rivers District, and its population was just over 11,000 at the 2011 census. Its common, owned and managed by the parish council, is a local nature reserve of woodland, heath and grassland, with a cricket ground and a nine-hole golf course. Chorleywood Golf Club, founded in 1890, is the oldest golf club in Hertfordshire. The village gave its name to the Chorleywood bread process, developed by researchers here in the early 1960s.

Chorleywood station on Station Approach has Metropolitan line trains and Chiltern Railways services to London Marylebone, with step-free access to both platforms. Junctions 17 and 18 of the M25 and the A404 are all at Chorleywood, so Heathrow and Luton are both reached by motorway without going through London. The Chorleywood House Estate, reached directly off the A404, runs down through parkland and woodland to the River Chess.

St Clement Danes School on Chenies Road is a large co-educational academy for ages 11 to 18, rated outstanding by Ofsted in 2024. Across the county line, Chenies Manor House is a Tudor house that opens to visitors, holds a tulip festival in May and a dahlia festival in late summer, and hosts weddings. We cover the daily run to St Clement Danes, wedding cars to Chenies, and dinners in London with a chauffeur waiting to drive you back to the village.
