Our service in Berkhamsted
Berkhamsted is a market town in the Bulbourne valley, with the Grand Union Canal running through it, the ruins of a Norman castle beside the station and a school founded in 1541. Berkhamsted School now has campuses on Castle Street, Kings Road and Chesham Road, and a good share of local journeys follow its timetable. North of the town, the National Trust's Ashridge Estate stretches across thousands of acres of woodland and common. Commuters, families and wedding guests all book our cars, each driven by one of our own TfL-licensed chauffeurs.
The A41 bypass, opened in 1993, carries through traffic past the south-west side of the town and runs to junction 20 of the M25, the usual start of a Heathrow or central London trip. The station on Lower Kings Road has frequent London Northwestern trains to Euston, but parking around it and the castle is very limited, so for station pickups we agree an exact meeting point. Luton and Heathrow are both covered. At every airport we track the flight and the first 60 minutes after landing are free, including parking.
Ashridge House, the Gothic Revival mansion on the estate, hosts weddings in its chapel and in Monks Barn, with bedrooms on site for guests. Ashridge Golf Club at Little Gaddesden and Berkhamsted Golf Club on the Common, a heathland course with no man-made bunkers, are the two local clubs. Each September the Graham Greene International Festival brings readers to the novelist's birthplace, and the Rex, a restored 1937 art deco cinema, is a thriving independent cinema. Whichever you need. The Boys' school and the Sixth are at Castle Campus on Castle Street, the Girls' school is on Kings Road, and the Pre-Prep is at Haresfoot on Chesham Road. Tell us the campus and we use the school's own meeting points.
Can you run wedding guests to and from Ashridge House?
Yes. We run V-Class shuttles between Ashridge House, Berkhamsted station and local hotels, and the chauffeur can stay until the evening ends.
