Gerrards Cross grew up around its common and its crossroads, where the A40 Oxford Road meets the B416 Packhorse Road. The town has an unusual cluster of independent schools: St Mary's on Packhorse Road, Thorpe House on Oval Way with its sixth form at Westminster House on Packhorse Road, and Gayhurst on Bull Lane. St Mary's is opening to boys and Thorpe House to girls at more entry points from September 2027, so school-run patterns in town are changing, and we plan regular runs around each school's day.
Gerrards Cross station sits in a deep cutting below Packhorse Road, with lifts down to the platforms and a drop-off point at Station Approach. Chiltern Railways trains run fast to Marylebone. The M40 runs along the southern edge of the town, with junction 1 at Denham and junction 1A for the M25, which makes Heathrow the nearest airport, while the M25 takes us on to Luton, Gatwick and Stansted. If your house has a gate or an entry code, add it to the booking so the chauffeur can come straight to the door.
Golf is the other big draw. Denham Golf Club on Tilehouse Lane opened in 1911 and even has its own station, Denham Golf Club, built at the club's request.
