Our service in Rickmansworth and Moor Park

Rickmansworth is the seat of Three Rivers District Council, named after the Colne, Chess and Gade, which join here. The Grand Union Canal runs south of the town centre, and the Aquadrome beside it has two lakes and a nature reserve. Moor Park is a private residential estate of tree-lined avenues, most of it in the Northwood HA6 postcode, and it takes its name from the Palladian mansion that now serves as the clubhouse of Moor Park Golf Club. The estate company owns most of its roads and keeps them closed to through traffic.

Rickmansworth station has Metropolitan line trains and Chiltern Railways services to London Marylebone. Moor Park station, on the Metropolitan line, is the only TfL station inside a gated private estate, and no buses run on the estate itself. Junctions 17 and 18 of the M25 lie within the town's boundaries, so Heathrow and Luton are close by motorway. Visitors may drive through Moor Park to reach a home, the station or the shops on Lower Main Avenue, and security staff may stop a car without an estate emblem to ask about the visit.

Moor Park Golf Club has two Harry Colt courses, the High and the West, and its Grade I listed mansion has hosted professional events including the 1985 Women's British Open. The Royal Masonic School for Girls has a 300-acre campus at Rickmansworth Park, and Merchant Taylors' School is at Sandy Lodge, where the estate ends. Watersmeet, the council's 515-seat theatre on the High Street, stages drama, music and a Christmas pantomime. Each May, boats moor along the canal by Batchworth Lock for the Batchworth Boat Rally.

  • Batchworth Boat RallyMay

    Grand Union Canal, Batchworth Lock

Boats moor along the canal between Batchworth and Stockers locks beside the Aquadrome; we drop you near the lock and collect at an agreed time.

On the road

  • The Moor Park estate operates a no through road policy on its private roads, so we drive in only to collect or drop off at a home, the station or the shops, and we give the address if security asks.
  • Rickmansworth station has no general car park, so for train connections we use the drop-off point on Station Approach rather than waiting on the street.
