Our service in Bray and Holyport

Bray is a village and parish on the Thames south-east of Maidenhead, taking in Holyport, Water Oakley and Fifield. The Fat Duck is on its High Street, and down by the river on Ferry Road is The Waterside Inn, which has held three Michelin stars without a break since 1985. Monkey Island, linked to the third Duke of Marlborough, is now a hotel reached only by footbridge or boat. At Water Oakley, Oakley Court is the Victorian Gothic house where Hammer made its early films and The Rocky Horror Picture Show was shot, and next door Bray Film Studios at Down Place now belongs to Amazon.

The M4 meets the A404(M) and the A308(M) at Junction 8/9, which puts Bray on the motorway for Heathrow and on the M25 for Gatwick. From that junction the A308 heads towards Windsor past Water Oakley, the A330 runs south through Holyport towards Ascot, and the B3028 threads through Bray village itself. Bray has no station, so the nearest trains are at Maidenhead, served by the Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway, where a chauffeur can meet you at the drop-off point.

An evening here often means a long dinner at The Fat Duck, The Waterside Inn or the Monkey Island Brasserie, and with a chauffeur nobody needs to drive home. Oakley Court sits in 35 acres overlooking the Thames, while Monkey Island has rooms, a floating spa and seven acres of gardens. In Holyport, Holyport College, the state boarding school sponsored by Eton College, brings term-time journeys, and the Royal County of Berkshire Real Tennis Club plays on a court built in 1889. We cover dinners, hotel stays, school runs and airport transfers across the parish.

Local knowledge

On the road

  • Junction 8/9 of the M4 joins the motorway, the A404(M) and the A308(M) at one roundabout, so we check it for delays before every Heathrow run.
  • The A308 Windsor Road is the direct way from Bray and Water Oakley to Windsor, passing Oakley Court on the way.

Questions about Bray and Holyport

Can the chauffeur wait while we dine at The Fat Duck?

Yes. The chauffeur can wait nearby for the whole meal or return at a time you set. The first 15 minutes of waiting are free, and waiting after that is charged.

Where does the car stop for Monkey Island?

Cars follow Old Mill Lane through Bray and turn left at the pink house into the Monkey Island car park. The island itself is reached on foot over the footbridge, and the chauffeur helps with bags.

Do you cover Holyport College boarders?

Yes. The college is on Ascot Road, and we collect boarders at weekends or the end of term and drive them home or to Heathrow.

Which station is nearest to Bray?

Maidenhead, on the Elizabeth line and Great Western Railway. Bray has no station of its own, so the chauffeur meets you at Maidenhead and drives on to the village.
