Our service in Hadley Wood

Hadley Wood grew from farmland on the old Enfield Chase after the farmer Charles Jack persuaded the Great Northern Railway to open a station here in the 1880s. The name came with the station, and the suburb now has almost a thousand homes, with St Paul's Church on Camlet Way dating from 1911. It sits in the London Borough of Enfield, yet its postal addresses read Barnet. We take the EN4 postcode and house name and find the drive.

Hadley Wood station is at the junction of Crescent East and Crescent West, with Great Northern trains towards Moorgate and Welwyn Garden City. It has no car park and step-free access only to the northbound platform, which makes a car the easier choice with cases. Cockfosters on the Piccadilly line and High Barnet on the Northern line are the nearest Underground stations. Junction 24 of the M25 is close by, so Heathrow, Luton and Stansted are all straightforward runs.

Hadley Wood Golf Club plays over a course laid out by Alister MacKenzie in 1922, with the Grade II listed Beech Hill Park mansion as its clubhouse. West Lodge Park, a Beales country house hotel on Cockfosters Road, stands in grounds that hold the Beale Arboretum. Mount House School on Camlet Way has been co-educational since 2017. To the south-east, the Trent Park House of Secrets museum opened in July 2026 in the house where wartime listeners recorded captured German officers.

Local knowledge

On the road

  • Hadley Wood station has no car park, so for train connections we use the drop-off point on Crescent West, where Crescent East and Crescent West meet.
  • Junction 24 of the M25 is the nearest motorway junction, which suits Stansted and Heathrow runs; for central London we choose between the routes through Cockfosters and Barnet on the day.

Questions about Hadley Wood

Is Hadley Wood in Enfield or Barnet for booking purposes?

It is in the London Borough of Enfield but has a Barnet postal address. Give us the EN4 postcode and house name and the chauffeur will come to your door either way.

Can you pick up guests from West Lodge Park?

Yes. The hotel is on Cockfosters Road, and we use the satnav postcode the hotel gives, EN4 0PZ, so the satnav leads the chauffeur straight to the hotel.

Why take a car rather than the train from Hadley Wood station?

The station has no lifts, no car park and step-free access only on the northbound side. A car takes you and your bags straight from home to the terminal.

Do you drive pupils to Mount House School?

Yes. The school is on Camlet Way, and we cover the morning drop-off and afternoon collection, with child seats complimentary when younger siblings travel too.

Can you take us to the Trent Park House of Secrets museum?

Yes. The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday, and we drop you at Daffodil Crescent and collect when you are ready, with 15 minutes complimentary waiting.
