On major match days non-residents face parking restrictions on the surrounding streets, St John's Wood High Street included, and the ground asks for private hire to be arranged away from the venue. So we agree a pickup a short walk from the crowds. The A40 Westway is our usual line to Heathrow, and London City, Gatwick and Luton are all routine.
The local calendar follows the cricket. England Test matches fill June to August, The Hundred brings evening crowds in late July and August, and the Eton v Harrow and Oxford v Cambridge matches open the season in May.
